Date : Friday, December 13, 2019

Time : 4:00 PM

Venue : CSA Seminar Hall (Room No. 254, First Floor)

Abstract

Does the quantum supremacy has any impact on cryptographic security as practiced today? Will we be prepared enough in case quantum computer becomes a reality in a not-so-distant future?

Painting with a broad brush, the talk will attempt to draw the contours of cryptography in a post-quantum world. We will touch upon the challenges and difficulties of securing our various mundane activities that involve communication over a public channel and the kind of research that have been initiated as part of this broad agenda.

Biography of the speaker

The speaker is a faculty member in the Dept. of CSA, IISc. He pretends that he enjoys thinking about various facets of security including the futility of compulsive rumination on security…cryptographic or otherwise.
