Bio
Gopakumar received his B.E. (Electrical Engineering) degree from Indian Institute of Science in 1980, M. Sc. (Engg.) in 1984 and Ph.D. in 1994 both from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Science respectively.
Gopakumar is currently a Professor (from 2007) at the Department of Electronic sytems Engineering( formerly CEDT- Centre for Electronics Design and Technology (CEDT), at Indian Institute of Science. During 1984-1987 he worked for Indian Space Research Organisation, Satellite Centre, Bangalore, India. Since 1987 he has worked as Scientific Officer from1987 to 1993, Senior Scientific officer, from 1993 to 1997, Assistant Professor from 1997 to 2003, and Associate Professor from 2003 to 2007.
Expertise
Gopakumars research interests are in the areas of Power electronics – Multilevel inverter topologies for induction motor drives, space vector PWM control.
