An active beam steering antenna array with 64 elements along with associated hardware and control programs was developed at IISc as part of the 5G Testbed project. These antennas operate at 26 or 28 GHz bands to suppose the mm wave bands to be released for 5G. In addition, this work incorporated new MM wave transmitters and receivers to interface the antenna with the baseband. A digital interface to control these components using an FPGA has also been developed.
