The award has been instituted by Ms. lndumati Srinivasan and Dr Seshadri Shekar Chakravarthy to establish an endowment in memory of their father, late Sri C S Sreenivasan, to award young faculty members in the development of Electric Engineering who are working in the power area (High Voltage, Power System and Power Electronics).
