Gopalaratnam Narayanan

Professor

Bio

Professor G. Narayanan received the B.E. degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Anna University, Chennai, the M.Tech. degree in machine drives and power electronics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Science,  Bangalore. His research interests include ac drives, electric machines, high power converters, multilevel inverters, power semiconductor devices, and pulse-width modulation.

Prof. Narayanan received the INAE Innovative Student Project Award for his Ph.D. work, the Young Scientist Award from the Indian National Science Academy, the Microsoft Research (India) Outstanding Young Faculty Award, the IETE Bimal Bose Award, and Prof. Satish Dhawan outstanding young engineer award for his research activities in the areas of pulse width modulation, electronic power conversion and motor control.
