WIRIN (Wipro IISc Innovation Network) (A Wipro Initiative)

Wipro and IISc have signed up an MOU that promotes collaborative research in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, and human machine interaction, related to autonomous systems and robotics. This is a three-year initiative..

The key objective of the initiative is to promote research and education in this emerging area leading to end-to-end system development and capacity building.

The principal activities of the initiative include:

  • Collaborative research projects involving IISc faculty members and Wipro researchers in topics and problems of relevance to autonomous systems and robotics (especially in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, and human machine interaction)
  • Funding of Ph.D. fellowships in this area
  • Setting up a state-of-the-art Autonomous Systems and Robotics Lab, in particular, a scalable autonomous system simulator  – SDV in a box and global environment in a lab
